Paleolicious!

Dear Friends,

Many of you have probably heard of the Paleolithic or Caveman diet. It came to life around the time of the Atkins, which advocates similar eating plans (less the dairy). You’ll find a wealth of information online, if you just look it up!

Wonderfully, the Paleo diet is also gluten-free! So it’s no wonder that the newly opened Paleolicious in Desa Sri Hartamas has been a favorite of mine recently. Not only are the waitstaff so kind and helpful, the food is AMAZING! I could literally order anything on the menu (when does that *ever* happen to me??!!). Freedom of worry is freedom indeed.

Check out their website here, and go wild at their place! Special mention: they also have wild caught salmon from Norway at the most affordable price I’ve seen in these parts.

Amazing coffee with con
My favorities at Paleolicious: Bullet Coffee with coconut oil (delicious, and prevents the crash!) and Chocolate Banana Cake (mimics the texture of real, luscious banana chocolate cake, less the sugar!)

Amazing find: Avocado Hummus!

Hello again friends!

Today, I wanted to share with you that I found what can only be described as the serendipitous marriage of two glorious foods. Avocado and hummus, brought together by the galaxies because… well… they were just *meant* to be together.

The Glorious Meeting of Two Beauteous Foods – Avocado Hummus!

I found it at Semsom, a Lebanese restaurant, with some other pretty awesome Middle Eastern fusion food. They also have standard fare, such as falafel, labneh, and baba ghanoush, which is (surprise, surprise!) pretty delicious too!

Avocado hummus goes amazingly well with falafel, by the way! There can never be too much chickpeas in one’s diet. 🙂

Note: While many falafels are safe, do check with the waitstaff if they have been mixed with wheat flour and/or if they have been fried in contaminated oil.

Falafel, made from chickpeas, is also food suitable for GF-ers!

Check out Semsom’s website, look at their creative menu, and pay them a visit!

Peace,
